Carson's 1st Birthday party.....It's a John Deere Day!!

Since Carsons loves tractors so much, we decided to have a John Deere themed party. Too bad he won't remember it, but we took a lot of pictures and video to remind him. We had a lot of family to celebrate Carson turning one. We had grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts and uncles, great aunts and uncles, cousins, overall we had about 30 people in our little house. Good thing we have an attached garage that we had a couple tables out there with a TV so people could watch the big, Wisconsin Badgers vs Minnesota Gophers football game. Go Badgers, they ended up winning!
I forgot to write in the invite to wear a John Deere shirt or green. Quite a few people did anyway. It was kind of neat. Chris, Carson and myself all had matching John Deere shirts.
It was a really fun day. Carson had a blast. We blew up the balloons while he was taking his nap so when he woke up and saw all the balloons on the ceiling he was amazed. His eyes got huge and he started kicking to go over by them so he could play with them. I think the whole day he had at least one balloon in his hand. It was really cute. All the kids liked the balloons, they were a hit. Of course Chris had to try out the helium!
I made Carson's tractor cake!! I was pretty proud of myself, it turned out pretty cute. Of course this picture doesn't do it justice, you'll have to take my word on that. My mom couldn't believe that I was going to give him the whole cake. But it is kind of a tradition with Chris's family. All that hard work and it would be smashed in a couple of seconds. Oh well. Carson really liked the cake and frosting. We stripped him down to his diaper and let him go. He went right to the tub.
He really didn't care to much about opening presents. He was pretty tired by this point but still I don't think he really would have cared. He really didn't like that he had to sit by me while other kids were playing with his presents. So after one or two gifts he just played with them. I got to opened them! He got lots of tractors, cute clothes and a cool thing to climb on. He loves to climb. Great gift for him. He also got a beautiful toy chest from my mom and dad. He loves to open and close that. It designed so that he can't pinch he fingers, very nice.

Playing with a tractor, this one was Chris's when he was a little boy.
Cool wrapping paper from aunt Jenna. She used a paper bag and then stenstiled a farm scene on it. We don't know what to do with it. It took her a long time to do, so we haven't thrown it away. This is the only time I have saved wrapping paper, I promise:)

CAKE TIME!!
Carson had a little help blowing out his candle from his cousin Lily.

I forgot to put a birthday hat on him when we had cake so we did it afterward.

I thought it would be cool if we took a pitcure with the big John Deere, since all of us were wearing matching John Deere shirts. Cute, right?
I had a close up here but somehow deleted it when I was typing.
Pretty soon Carson will be riding with Chris in the tractor. Maybe not, it makes me very nervous.
Playing in the hay.

Happy 1st BIRTHDAY Carson

Happy 1st Birthday Carson!!!

He turned 1 on September 28th. I can't believe it has been an entire year already. He has grown up so fast and has learned so much. I remember the night I went into labor. It was right after my grandma's birthday party. Every year we go on a hayride for her birthday. A few hours later Chris and I were home and my water broke! It was kind of weird going on the hayride this year remembering what happened just 1 year ago. It was pretty cold on the hayride but Carson enjoyed it. We bring lots of treats for the ride, it is pretty fun.

He has been walking for 2 months already so he is pretty good. One of his favorite things to do is get chased. He can actually run away. It is so cute. One night we were both almost sweating. We could do that all night. He runs away and hides and we have to find him. He thinks it is so funny. He still loves to be outside, the cold doesn't seem to bother him. He loves to walk around by the tractors and cows. He is very curious and needs to check everything out and lots of times taste it, like below. He found a mole hole in our yard. That's all he wanted to play with, so I let him, until he started eating the dirt. He didn't think that tasted so good. That was another time he went straight to the tub. He had fun though. Boys will be boys right?

Carson always needs something in his mouth. He loves this string. He will find it and put it right in his mouth and continue playing with the string hanging out of his mouth.

One morning the County was fixing the culvert across the road. There were a bunch of dump trucks, bulldosers, and other big, loud equipment. Carson loves watching things like that. We watched out the window a lot that morning and then we sat outside for awhile watching them. Great entertainment!
